Hello,
we are planning to fly to Guyana early next year. Who has practical travel experience like on transportation to budget caps/resorts/lodges in or near the jungle ?
The ones advertised on the internet are in the range of 95 Dollars/day. Is there anything less expensive?
Even a short information would be great!!!
Beste wishes,
Werner

Hi 95 dollars is way too much, you did not say which part of border, first you will have to go in to Georgetown from the airport and probably spend the night before proceeding to the border towns in Georgetown you have two nice hotels The Pegasus, and the Tower hotelthe Tower is the cheaper of the two but still very nice should not be more than 70 dollars before the discount, you should ask for a discount which usually runs between 10% and 20%the border town hotels not very nice but should not be more than 20 dollars per day when visiting Guyana especially border towns you should be very careful and keep a low profile, the exchange in Guyana dollars to us is 185 to one you should change to Guyana dollars the hotel will be cheaper, from the airport to Georgetown is 1500 Guyana dollars which is less than 20 dollars US, I know a lot about Guyana I was there in April so if their is any other information I can help you with Email me at mhdavis@worldnet.att.net have a good trip Lee
