Hi,
I recently visited Mexico City as was absolutely amazed. I thought this megapolis just would be another Latin American capital whose colonial charms are ruined by dilapidation and post-colonial ugly building constructions. In simple English, I thought maybe there would be a couple nice square as well as pretty churches dotted throughout the city with most of the rest of the city ugly. True, the ever-sprawling appearance and style of Greater Mexico City usually puts off even many nationals. However, the sizable enough historic center is nothing short of beautiful. This area is packed with very well preserved architecture, fine murals and classy restaurants known for great ambiance. What's more, the charming and small town colonial suburbs that are San Ángel and Coyoacán add to the overall allure of visiting the capital.
Anyway, do you think I would like Lima? If it consists of mostly ugly urban sprawl/blight with few and relatively small areas of colonial charm (like a couple squares as well as churches dotted around), then I probably would not want to visit. However, if Lima is something like Mexico City or Quito (which also has a rather sizable historic center that is nothing short of beautiful), then probably I would like it. What are your thoughts? Incidentally, I visited Cuzco and liked it, but of course, Lima is much bigger and if I enjoyed Cuzco I do not know whether Lima ranks among the country’s more attractive urban destinations.
Is Lima as Nice as Mexico City and Quito?

Never been to Quito. Been to MC many times and have alwyas enjoyed it -- great city. DIdn't not care for LIma at all.
We had been in Southamerica many times, but few places like Quito, Guayaquil and Buenos Aires are hard to find, we had been in Lima, we did not find it very appealing, but of curse that is up to Your choices. Best place to visit I would strongly recommend you Quito, the beautiful Galapagos Islands, & Guayaquil all in Ecuador. My second best Buenos Aires, without a doubt, and Salto del Angel in Venezuela.
Interesting question. I’ve lived in both Mexico City and Lima, and I really don’t think you can compare the two. Mexico City is so massive and vibrant it’s worth visiting by itself, but I don’t think the same can be said for Lima. If you’re coming to Peru anyways, then by all means spend a couple days in Lima—it is certainly worth it. However, I honestly can’t recommend coming just to visit Lima and nothing else.
Quito is similar to Lima, but I found Quito to be a bit more “quaint” and orderly than Lima.
Peru isn't really the best country to visit for "urban" attractions.
Since I have no idea why the OP is posting this type of question for locations all over the world, I won't bother to answer.
You guys have been great, except for mlgb of course. mlgb, I type questions about all over the world because I travel all over the world. I have been to over 500 destinations at this point and I do not plan on stopping. No need bothering answering amigo. Just enjoy life!
Too bad for you, I might have had a different perspective, but I don't respond to rude posters, either.
