I believe there are lockers at AEP but I'm not sure I'd trust them.

What if you stay at the same hotel? What if you threaten to cancel your reservation?

Avoid the cabs waiting in line outside the AEP.

We used the lockers in AEP (2008, 2010)and found them (not actually lockers, rather a locked, guarded cabina between the terminals) to be safe and secure.

AvRooster is correct, as usual, that the Remis transportation services are safe and can be pre-arranged and pre-paid and are, IMO, the safest and most comfortable way to get from AEP to town or to EZE.

Curious how to arrange a remise in advance. We will be in Arg for first time, the first three weeks of December: BA, Iguazu, El Calafate, Bariloche and Mendoza. Do all Town's have remise service or just BA? Also plan to rent a car in Bariloche and Mendoza. Any tips for rentals in either? Is it necessary to rent a car for El Calafate or can we get around on public transport to main sites? We generally enjoy driving and exploring at our own pace but since Arg distances are so vast, we have been encouraged not to do a lot of driving... I've read the warnings about not getting taxis at the airport, but can all of these be arranged in advance from the EEUU/USA? Any other tips greatly appreciated. Thank you.

But, it is not usually necessary to reserve in advance as they have kiosks right after customs and you can make your arrangements right there. We only book in advance in AEP during high use times as they are sometimes so crowded that there is a wait. In the smaller towns, we have had no problem using the taxi services from the airports.

Read (search) some ealier posts regarding rentals in particular towns...it varies.

@MarnieWDC thank you for your info. I had neglected to check for a response, not being a regular user! Would you use the remise services to go different places within Buenos Aires, locations, too, not just for back and forth to the airport? Others have referred to radio cabs, is that the same as a remise? Is the remise considerably more expensive?

No, a Radio Taxi is a taxi that one can hail on the street (there is a light that says 'radio taxi') or have one called for you by your restaurant or hotel. Unless it is called, there will be no extra safety of connection to the company. There is an additional, small charge for calling. However, unless you are exiting a tourist site or tango hall or are in a sketchy neighborhood, particularly at night, you could just hail a radio taxi. We do, and we find the taxi drivers to be helpful and honest...just be sure to use SMALL BILLS to pay.

A Remis is a private service that you pay in advance. We only use them from the airport or for specific, short, outskirts of town trips.
