we have a long layover in Santiago between arriving in Santiago and leaving for Easter island...about 10 hours....do you know anyplace we can rent a room for a few hours close to the airport? and lets just say for travelers, not for other purposes...

Have you considered going out and see the city, it might be a great chance to explore a great city.
Effectively, airport is not so far from the city and you can have some nice times in Santiago.
If not, the holiday inn is directly on airport, just the road to traverse.
As all airport´s hotel i think they have some daýs rate for what you want.
But one more time you have time to 5-6 hours in the city.
