Hi! My fiance and I are working on planning are honeymoon and are overwhelmed by the options. We are getting married mid-May 2012 and are planning to leave (from Philly) for our honeymoon immediately. We only have 7-8 days so anywhere we have to fly too far, including Hawaii, the South Pacific, Africa, etc are out. We are not interested in Mexico, Aruba, Jamaica, Domincan Republic, Puerto Rico or the Bahamas. We are interested in opinions and reccomendations for the Carribean (other than the above), Central America, or maybe some of Europe. We are in our mid-twenties and are definitely looking for some relaxation with some day adventures available. Can anyone help?!

"anywhere we have to fly too far" would, IMO, include Brazil, about a 9 hour, very expensive flight from NYC for example, into a city such as Rio, and even further to get to a romantic tropical beach of the type you might be imagining. If you chose Brazil, you could spend about 3-4 days sightseeing in Rio, and try to spend a few days visiting the historic town of Paraty (about a 4 hour bus ride south of Rio) and on nearby Ilha Grande, or in Buzios, a few hours to the north of Rio.
Do some research online if this interests you and come back with more specific questions. www.ipanema.com is a good overview resource for Rio.
First congrats!

Truly amazing...
Brazil and Hawaii longer flights both very nice
Paraty Brazil is featured in the new Twilight "Breaking Dawn"
movie awesome romantic... I also like Mauna Kea or
Princeresortshawaii.com on the big island great beaches
volcanoes no passport required only 4 hours direct to
www.konaweb.com from LAX so probably like 8 hours total.
Tough decisions but you really cannot go wrong...
Been to all of the above Clombia probably for me
for romantic exotic beach party vibe pretty close to the US
A little too dodgy for some newbies though.
Paraty will get some serious business off this movie probably.
