Hello, sorry if this has been covered before. We are researching a trip to Brazil in 2014 and only have 15 days for vacation. Our primary goal to to visit the Pantanal and we will be spending 9 or 10 days with a local guide. We will have a couple of extra days at the beginning of our trip. Should we fly to Rio from the US, spend a couple of days sightseeing (and to recover from the 20 hour trip!) before flying to Cuiaba to meet our guide? On the way back from Cuiaba, should we fly back to Rio or Sao Paulo? I am wondering if there are more international flights available from Sao Paulo to fly back to the US?
Thanks!
Virginia

I think both TAM and American Airlines fly out of Rio. I've taken a TAM flight non-stop to New York.
I love São Paulo, but it is an acquired taste you might say. It's a huge city with great bars, restaurants, galleries, museums and so forth. I go there every time I go to Brazil because I'm a huge fan of contemporary Brazilian art and the art galleries are amazing.
Rio is unbelievably beautiful. You won't regret going there. All those classic tourist attractions are amazing: Corcovado [Christ the Redeemer] and Pão de Açúcar [Sugar Loaf].
Hi Susan7,
Thanks so much for your reply. Looks like Rio it is, given our short time frame
