Punta del Este, Uruguay Hotel Help

Hello- I am going to Montevideo for business in early December and would like to spend the weekend in Punta del Este.

I am looking for hotel recommendations for Punta del Este and suggestions for the best mode of transportation (rental car, hired car, etc.) for getting from MVD to the coast.
