My husband and I will be in Salta for New Year's Eve. Can anyone recommend a restaurant for a really nice dinner (not buffet)? Anyone been in Salta for New Year's Eve - anything going on in the main part of town??

As I wrote in a post this past April, I recommend El Solar del Convento and Dona Salta, both close to the square in Salta, for your New Year's Eve dinner. I'm sorry that I cannot supply any information about local celebrations, but, perhaps, the tourist office (online) can. ZZ
La Monumental is a great option, but you have to book it as soon as you arrive to Salta. Most of the other restaurants will be closed but Jovi, Alejandro I hotel will have a Special Supper for NYE.
Flintstones
Flinstones - We were thinking of La Monumental for New Year's Eve. I read somewhere that there are two of them - one across the road from the other (??) - If that is the case, which one do you recommend? How "dressed-up" should we be?
Zambezi - thinking of Dona Salta for New Year's Day (if it is open....).
Thank you both for your recommendations.
