I have a niece working in Guyana, and had thought about combining a visit to her and making our way to Kaieteur Falls. I have 3 children aged 7, 9 and 12. Anyone been that way and have info or comments?
Take the family to Kaieteur Falls?

Did you make your trip to Kaieteur Falls? Was it worth the trip? We're going to Guyana and Brazil in November/December and it's likely going to be on our itinery. Your comments would be appreciated.
We were there a few years ago and it was a very impressive falls. If you find yourself in Guyana it's probably worth doing. One thing that struck us, however, is that there was no safety infrastructure (i.e., you could wade into the river easily maybe 30 feet above the falls). I'm not saying that's a bad thing, or that you shouldn't take your kids there, but it might be worth keeping in mind.
