My fiance and I are getting married in mid-October of this year, and want to spend our honeymoon somewhere on the beach. We want somewhere quiet and romantic...it doesn't have to be all adult, but we don't want the family hot spot either. A private villa/hut/room with terrace would be good.
Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.
We are getting married in Portland, OR and will only have 10 days - so we would prefer to go somewhere that we don't have to spend a day and a half traveling back and forth from (which is why we've nixed the Caribbean).
Our priorities for this trip are:
- Good food!
- Massages/spa
- Possibly private plunge pool or jacuzzi
- Beach
We like relaxing, but also like hiking, shopping, snorkeling, kayaking, etc. - so a place with activities would be nice. We don't have a huge budget, but we're willing to stretch for the perfect place.

Hawaii or Mexico would both work for what you describe and are easy to fly to from Portland.
Thanks! We were hoping for specific resort suggestions too, if anyone knows of any that fit our criteria!
Hardly anyone reads this "Travel Tips" branch. I suggset you re-post the question on the Mexico &/or US forum (Hawaii).
From Seattle I can get to Oahu or Maui nonstop in 6 hours. For Puerto Vallarta I transfer once but it's about the same flight time.
Sorry I don't stay at as nice of places as what you're seeking(lol) so no specific recommendations.
the CoCo Bay Beach Resort in Antigua is beautiful.
