We are going to be traveling from California to France, and have just read about "Flight Spray"; a product sold by Magellan's.com. It's all natural and alcohol-free, and claims to help keep your sinuses spared from "dry aircraft cabins, recycled air, and sneezing, coughing passengers". It claims to "help prevent viral infections by creating an unsuitable environment for inhaled germs to reproduce". It comes in a 1 oz. spray bottle for $16.50. We are all about being as germ free as possible, which is a tall challenge when enclosed in a plane for some many hours, and we definitely want to be in good health and ready for our trip upon arrival. Has anyone used this product or do you have something else to recommend? I don't mind paying that price if it is a good product, but Megellan's, in IMHO, runs on the pricey side.

Sounds like junk science to me. I'd ask to see the clinical trials... I bet there aren't any. You could use any over the counter nasal hydrating spray.
The main issue is the dry air. That can cause the nasal membranes to crack and that is how bacteria/germs can enter your system.
I just use otc nasal gel to keep my nose moisturized. Sort of the consistency of vaseline. Ayr is one brand - costs maybe $3 or $4 tops any drugstore or Walmart/Target/etc.
Never bothered. This insistence on being "germ free" is crazy. It just makes you more susceptible to the germs that you're going to encounter anyway.

Seems odd to me and "junk science" like others have suggested. I travel with a simple nasal saline spray which keeps passages hydrated and can declog you a little
Thank you all for your assistance. I think that I'm going to go with an over-the-counter normal saline spray of some sort. "Thursdaysd"....I'm not a germaphobe! Being confined in a plane, sitting right on top of dozens of other people for 10+ hours with recirculating air and, perhaps, individuals who are under the weather, is what concerns me though. I/we are spending a lot of money to take this vacation, and we want to be well to enjoy it.
The point of a gel is it keeps the nasal membranes moisturized. A spray just dissipates and won't be nearly as effective.
Go to Walmart or Target and for around $3.00 USD you can get AYR brand nasal saline gel for your flights. I work as as international flight attendant and everyone uses that to keep the nasal passages moist. Easy,cheap and the tube is small enough to fit in your 3 ounce bag.
