Do you perhaps mean Moonlight Beach in Encinitas, which is about 30 mi. north of San Diego airport? Spend an afternoon in La Jolla, explore the "Shores" area as well as the Caves and Seal Beach. Then Wind n Sea Beach is a treat on a beautiful day. Scripps Aquarium is worthwhile in LaJolla too as is their art museum whose location is stunning on the ocean. Have breakfast or lunch at The Cottage. Rent a water vehicle on Mission Bay and explore Balboa Park and Zoo.
