Just got my passport renewed via mail and they didn't return my old one. They've sent back my old one the previous few times I've had it renewed (granted it's been about 10 years for me; 6 for DH). When did they stop doing this?
Kind of bummed - I loved that passport. Had a lot of very cool stamps and memories. If I'd known I would have made a photocopy of certain pages.
New process for old passports?

Are in the USA? If so, you should get the passport back - it comes in a different envelope.
Yes, in the US. I didn't realize it would come in a different envelope. Yippee! Maybe I'll get it today. Thanks!

It should provide you with some hope.
It arrived several days later - a bit longer than expected but very happy the procedure didn't change.
Thanks for the follow-up. I'd hate it if they kept mine.
Good to know - my husband is due for renewal, and we'd worry if he didn't get the old one.
LOL some day I'll learn to proof-read. My husband's passport is due for renewal, not my husband. Freudian slip?
LOL! Some days I wish my husband was due for renewal...
Good for you hlphillips2
