Interesting. I've never used Priceline myself, but have used Kayak many times.
Priceline took over Booking.com and Agoda a few years ago, both major hotel bookers. The consolidations contine.
I was blown away by the price they paid. It will be interesting to see what they do with it.
My experience with Kayak shows they usually post the same rates as Expedia. Whenever I search there I see Expedia. I know they send a large % of traffic to Expedia because it was in there IPO filing that close to 40% of their revenue comes from Expedia.
The interesting thing will be to see what Priceline does with the search results. Will they change the results and direct that traffic to the Priceline.com site? Or will they continue to send significant business to their competitor?
