I have no real knowledge of units available but if you find something in JP I can give you an opinion about the location, etc.
thanks so much cw! they may have found something in Inman Square which is a fun neighborhood.
A cautionary tale......an employee of DH's thought he had booked an apt for his parents coming to Boston from overseas for a 2 wk vacation. LUCKILY he went to the place a week or 2 ahead to check on something and NO one knew what he was talking about. Someone had scammed him and absconded w/the money. The address used was that of a legit apt bldg but everything else was a scam.
There have been a few threads about this on TA where the apartment is advertised on Craigslist and asks for money to be sent through Western Union. If it's too good to be true then it probably is a scam. And never send money through Western Union.
socialworker, do you know any details? Thanks for reminding people to be cautious.
thanks everyone! we found a place on vrbo in the north end. did the phone call and emails of contracts etc. family has the good fortune that I can confirm the place is legitimate from their management address and property address.
the first thing I told them was avoid craigslist and stick with reputable listing sites.
No, cw I do not know the details other than the Western Union part which should have been a red flag and DH would have told him, had he known in advance that the person was going to send money that way. We only found out after the scam had been perpetrated.
Thanks socialworker. The WU is a red flag. I'm sorry it happened.
