A few topics regarding the drive from Anchorage to Denali.

I have read a number of the posts and it appears that the best and fastest option is to rent a car in Anchorage. Several of the post state that it is somewhat cheaper to rent a car off premises. Would I assume correctly that there are shuttles or cabs to these locations.
Any suggestions of places to stop on the way up to Denali. Either on the way up or way back I plan to take one of the flightseeing glacier tours. Any input regarding any of the operators would be appreciated. Since the weather is very much a variable any suggestions on prebooking a flight. Are you just out of luck if they can't fly due to weather.
