This is a very spur of the moment trip. We're hoping to find a room in South Haven for tomorrow night. So far the Sun 'n' Sands isn't even answering their phone! But meanwhile, I thought I'd see whether anyone here has had any experience with it. Or can recommend another nice but inexpensive (around $100) spot where we may be able to find a room on short notice for a Sunday night in that area of Michigan (doesn't have to be South Haven but would prefer not to go too much farther north).
Thanks!
Anyone know anything about Sun 'n' Sands Resort in South Haven?

Just made a reservation. So I guess I'll find out first hand!
South Haven is a great town to visit! We go there 2 or 3 times each summer. The beaches are just as good or better than Florida. Lots of tourists from the Chicago, St. Louis, Indianapolis & Cincinnati areas.
Sun-N-Sand is an old resort that is located a couple of miles out of town. I do know that some of the rooms were recently remodeled. The problem with staying there is that you need to drive to get to the beaches, restaurants & shops.
When we go, we stay with a private owner who has a couple of condos and some houses that are all walking distance from downtown and the beaches. We actually just park the car when we get there and don't touch it until we leave. But I think that they only rent on a weekly basis. We're going there next week; can't wait. Their website is easy to remember, its www.funinsouthhaven.com
Thanks, gumbo! Enjoy your visit next week!
Sun 'n Sand turned out to be perfect for us for last night. Well, almost perfect. Unfortunately, our room had an adjoining door and the people in the next room had the TV on until 11:00 last night and again at 4:00 this morning! But we'd definitely stay there again. We'd just make sure to ask for a room with no adjoining door!
