I have never been to Asheville and I am wondering what the weather is apt to be like during Thanksgiving Week?
Are the gardens at Biltmore anything to see at this time of year?
Are there activites you might suggest for 3 middle-aged adults?

There won't be a lot of outdoor stuff during your stay, but there is plenty to do in downtown Asheville! If the days are warm, you can go for a hike, and if they're cold... check out the shops, restaurants, and our famous breweries that are all right in one area.
Biltmore has their Candlelight Evening program running November and December which is definitely worth checking out. The whole house is decorated for the holidays and lit by candles... it's an evening tour and has to be scheduled, so availability might be tough. Here's a company that offers free Biltmore Estate passes and Candlelight passes if you stay with them: http://www.carolinamornings.com/Content/last-minute-deals.asp - it's a pretty good deal!
Grove Park Inn is worth checking out, too... just to say you've seen it.
Have a great trip!
