Suggestions for places to stay in Austin? Is it best to stay near the Convention Center, State Capital, University or near Lady Bird Lake? We will have a car.
Thank you!

Why are you going to Austin? Do you need to stay in downtown? Tell us a little more so we know what to recommend.
A friend just stayed in the Driskill Hotel - downtown -- and enjoyed it.

Also, 1) when are you going, 2) how many in your party and
3) what is your budget?
No reason to recommend the Driskill (or lots of other hotels) if you: 1) are planning to go on a UT football weekend, 2) have a party of 5 or more or 3) have a budget of $150.
