Planning an off season visit to Lobstahville and have resigned to the fact that a bunch of places will be closed for the season........but not all.
WIth that said and a week to spare, what recommendations can anyone offer for places to stay, eat and of course, things to do (in addition to Acadia of course).
Have at it fellow chowdah lovers!

The trouble with late October is the chance for a rainy, miserable week just before Halloween. Keep in mind that New England got snow for Halloween in 2011. Would you consider further south like around Portland or Brunswick ME?
I did this in 2003 and like you mentioned, many of the places already closed for the season. We stayed at the Wonder View Inn in Bar Harbor, the final week they were open for the year, and ate the last lobster at their restaurant! Drove around Acadia, but there were some snow at the higher elevations. Also stopped by Portland to see the lighthouse, and an ice cream shop nearby was still open, as I stopped to ask directions. I wish I had the extra money at the time to go two weeks earlier, but even as is, it's still one of my most memorable trips. Beautiful scenery and friendlypeople there.
Our dates are fixed (10/20-10/26) and we are absolutely sold on BH. That said, we do plan to hit Portland on the way up and Fisherman's Grill
Willing to roll the dice on the weather.
