My family is going to Steamboat Springs the week of Christmas. Do we need to make reservations for tubing? Planning on skiing 2 days as we will need lessons, snowmobile and tube. Condo is reserved but other than that we don't know what we are doing. Restaurant advice too please. Shuttle service to condo from airport? Any advice would be appreciated. Family of five.

Which airport?
Hayden
Have you asked your condo owner about transport from the airport? They would have the most current information.
Have fun in Steamboat! It is magical at Christmas. Don't fret about not having things planned out-- that's what vacation is for!
The airport shuttles from Hayden to Steamboat can get busy so we always reserve seats in advance. We use Go Alpine (www.goalpine.com) but Storm Mountain Express looks fine too (www.stormmountainexpress.com). It's about a 30-40 minute trip from the airport into town, depending on where your condo is. Once you are in Steamboat, your condo will probably have their own fleet of vans which will take you around town.
Steamboat has lots of good restaurants on the mountain, in town and in-between. Without knowing your interests it's hard to recommend one, but there should be a restaurant guide in your condo that will have menus etc. You will have plenty of choices.
Thank you so much. Is it necessary to reserve tubing and snowmobile tour in advance? We love to eat everything so that will be no problem. 11 year old and two 16. Anything I should know about purchasing lift tickets and lessons?
Why not just reserve everything in advance, and know you are all set.
Tubing is at Howelson Hill which is the small ski area near downtown Steamboat. The website (www.tubingsteamboat.com) says that reservations are recommended but I can't personally say how necessary they are. I don't know anything about snowmobile tours but unless you require a specific day and time, I suspect you can wait until you arrive to make arrangements.
Steamboat.com has all the information you need about tickets and lessons. Keep in mind that some lesson packages include lift tickets so start there.
Have a great trip! Steamboat has received a bunch of new snow in the last few days with more to come, so the hill should be in great shape for your visit.
I talked with Steamboat residents last night, who had just driven to Denver. They said it was snowing like crazy in Steamboat yesterday. Yay!
Yay for the snow! We are so excited! I think I will make all reservations I can now. That would make me feel better. We can't wait!!!!
