My family is going out to Omaha for the first four games of the College World Series. We have hotel reservations very close to the ballpark and the zoo. Any suggestions on restaurants, activites for children, or things to see while visiting Omaha? We will be there with our children (ages 3, 5, and 8).

Well, the zoo for sure!
There is a Children's Museum downtown that is quite nice and not far for you.
The Durham Western Heritage Museum is also close by and has some fun stuff for kids...a full-size train to go through, an old streetcar, a huge toy train set-up, and a soda fountain, just to name a few things.
One of my favorite Omaha restaurants is in the Old Market, but of course, it will be crowded then...Upstream Brewing Company. They make their own root beer (and really good real beer also!) A kid-friendly place would be the Old Market Spaghetti Works...it's been there since the 1970's!
And if you have time and want to drive about 30 miles west on I-80, visit Eugene Mahoney State Park (great swimming, horseback riding, playgrounds, wonderful view of the Platte River valley) and the Strategic Air Command Museum. Also at that exit is an auxiliary zoo to the main zoo that houses native Nebraska animals in a drive-thru setting.
How fun! We went to a game there a few years ago - my DH is a huge Rice University (his alma mater) baseball fan - and we'll try to go this year if Rice makes it into the CWS! Omaha becomes crazy around the stadium during the CWS - hope you can walk from your hotel to the ballpark since it is tough (or lots of $$$) to park.
I can definitely recommend the Doorly zoo - they have a great indoor rainforest exhibit. We also enjoy walking around the Old Market area - good shops and restaurants. There is a train museum (Durham) but we've never been there.
