Trip Report COLORADO TRIP REPORT DAY #1 - CHICAGO TO BROOMFIELD, CO

I thought I had posted this --- but don't see it online -- from Summer of 2012 - hope it still is of some value.

Drove from Chicago to Broomfield, CO - Dumped (basically, yeah, just dumped them and drove off...) kids and raced with DH to Buckhorn Exchange for dinner. Yes, we were exhausted, but there is something cool about waking up in Chicago and DRIVING and having dinner in Denver. No sweat, right? :) Our 5th or 6th? time at this old institution. Excellent/attentive service as always. Too tired for cowboy music upstairs... Bike rental AND light rain stations RIGHT across from restaurant. Area in transition.

Hotel - Renaissance Boulder Flatiron
Kids walked to dinner (TONS of choices within walking distance - adjacent to mall...).
"Suite" format rooms w/separate bedroom off main "living room".
Decent bar in lobby w/local micro-brews.
Fresh, "high end" feel to lobby.
