We are going for a girl's weekend the end of the month. I tried to book a reservation at The Blue Marlin and it was booked up! We are looking for a non-chain, special occasion restaurant. We don't mind to drive, we are staying on Lake Murray. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

I guess I should have told you that we are going to Columbia SC!
Are you going on a home game weekend? If so you might have trouble. Check the USC football schedule. My favorite Cola restaurant is Mr. Friendly's but you won't get near it if there's a game.
We are going on an away weekend....I did think of that.
I have been looking around a little more and I saw Mr. Friendly's. Thanks suewoo!
Unless you happen to see a better place for breakfast, there is an IHOP across the street from the Capitol building at the SW corner of Assembly and Senate.
Italian: Al's Upstairs, Ristorante Divino, Diane's on Devine, Travinia (chain, but very good, good atmosphere).
Tapas: Gervais and Vine, 116 Espresso and Wine ( also has full bar)
Asian/Sushi: SakiTumi,
Seafood/Variety: Pearlz, Garibaldi's, Terra, Motor Supply.
Dessert: Nonnah's
JADS - thanks for the ideas! I am checking into these right now.
Not sure which side of the lake you are staying on but Alodias between Ballentine and Irmo is a great upscale Italian restaurant....Lexington has some great restaurants too if you do not want to drive into Columbia.......
I still dream of California Dreaming.
