We are planning our trip from Syracuse NY to Grand Lake CO early August. On the way home from Denver, we want to stop to Omaha NE to see the zoo. But it will take 8 hours drive. Any suggestions where we can stop or see in between. We bring our kids (8 and 6 years old).
Read about CocoKey Water Resort, it is worth to go for half a day ?
I will post on the other states too as we will pass Iowa, Illionois, Ohio. Thanks.
Denver, CO to Omaha, NE - any suggestions where to stop and see

The Arch at Kearney Nebraska is really pretty interesting and well done and kids would enjoy it. And if you are really interested in the migration west, they is Fort Kearney, Pioneer Village. That will add a day to your trip.
How about Buffalo Bill Cody's Scouts' Rest Ranch in North Platte? http://www.richgros.com/Cody/scouts_rest_ranch.html
There's also the Stuhr Museum of the Prairie Pioneer in Grand Island.
