On FlipKey, I found several properties I'm considering booking for a week's rental in Florida. I've never used FlipKey so I would like to hear from any of you who have used this service. Actually, I'm not very experienced with booking rentals from any source. All help appreciated. Thanks.

Not for the US - but maybe check this thread on the Europe board
http://www.fodors.com/community/europe/beware-knightsbridge-apartment.cfm
A friend got scammed using them for a NYC apt rental..(yes they're illegal in NYC but she did it anyway)
An apt, we rented from an agency in France is also listed on FlipKey and that one would be OK..
Oh - just read it again and that thread I linked - the flat was no longer on Flipkey and she booked based on an airbnb listing
Where in Florida?
I've used Flipkey a couple of times in Europe. One experience was great and the other just OK. Have never used them in the US.

crckwc, I would go with www.VRBO.com instead. Miami is a weird city, lots of scammers.
Thanks to all -- I'm looking at VRBO.
