Hello all -
Flying United to Anchorage from LAX. Since coming from LAX, might be more difficult to get through baggage with fishing poles & light tackle.
United website says to put poles in a tube .. . The poles are collapsible and can be broken down, but some not small enough for a carry on bag - total length 50 inches.
Any suggestions? Thanks!
J Joel

Put them in a tube and take them as checked baggage.

Tough call. Pay more for luggage or try and rent gear in Alaska?
Try HARD to carry them on and put them in the overhead in travel tubes. That is what we have mostly seen done and done ourselves. It's worth buying the good travel tubes for sure.
