I'm planning a quick trip for 2 days to the small town of Republic, MI to do some genealogy. I've been through the area years ago but need some hints on nearby hotel/inn accomodations, libraries, anything that may help my search. Thanks!

I've done genealogy trips to many places, and the way I start is to check for any country historical society. Republic is in Marquette, so I'd do a search there. Here's a start:

The city itself has its own history society

and it appears they have monthly meetings at the local history museum. I'd make every possible effort to contact and meet with this group.
To find lodging:
1) use a search engine for any lodging in or nearby the city.
2) if there are any, use a travel review site to see how well any such lodgings are rated.
