I looked it up on VRBO. It looks legit, despite the overblown text describing it. I didn't see the unit number. Do you know it, or know the owner's name? You could contact the Ilikai Condo Owners association to inquire if they are owners in good standing -- don't owe association fees, have complaints, etc. I also didn't see a contact person should you have any difficulties while you are their guest. Does the owner live Honolulu? (It does sound as though they allow overcrowding -- six people in a 1 BR unit? I don't think the fire laws permit that, but I could be wrong.)
The Ilikai itself is a very nice property. We've stayed in the hotel portion. Last I knew there was a vacation rental company that rented condos there -- name escapes me, but the Ilikai Hotel would probably know. (You'd be dealing with an organization, not the owner.)
I think it was Shell Vacations at the Ilikai.
(I didn't mean to sneer at VRBO or owners. We own a condo on Maui and have advertised on VRBO for a dozen years.)
