We'll be staying at the Hyatt Coral Gables for a pre cruise one night stay. We were very fortunate to be able to get our stay on points. From what I've read about it, it seems like a nice place. I always like feedback from others Fodors travelers on your experiences.
Does anyone have a recommendation for a good restaurant nearby for dinner? I'd love to go to a Cuban restaurant in Miami. I read online that the Miami area has a problem with iguanas and a news article I found mentions that people can eat iguana. Does anyone know of a restaurant that legally serves iguana? Thanks for your help.

Never heard of them on menus in Florida, or anywhere in the US, for that matter. Having eaten them once or twice in rural Mexico, I would not seek them out again. Understatement.
Never seen gekkos on menus here either.
It is stone crab season. Tastier than iguana. Almost certainly tastier than gekko.
I ate stone crabs in Cancun once and they were great. I'll look for them in Miami. Thanks. Still curious about iguana.
Tarpon Bend is nearby and has lots of fish options - - it's crazy busy on Friday night for Happy Hour so maybe avoid that timing.
Cibo is Italian and next door to TB..
If you walk 1 or 2 streets off Miracle Mile (the main road), you'll find Giralda - a restaurant row with lots of other options.
Thanks. I'll look into Tarpon Bend. Do you know any Cuban restaurants in the area?
The "gold standard" for Cuban is Versailles - 3555 Sw 8th St, Miami, FL. It's where every Presidential candidate will go to court the Cuban vote. Very good.
Within walking distance would be
Villa Havana Restaurant(305) 446-74273398 Coral Way, Miami, FL
Thank you!
