We are driving from the Chicago area on Sunday (Father's Day) to drop DD off for writer's camp at the university. We'd like to eat lunch someplace decent and/or interesting... but not too fancy. A place with good food, and we're not necessarily picky about cuisine type. Any recommendations would be appreciated!

Go to the Amana Colonies, just about 20 miles west of Iowa City. These are populated by a Christian religious group that belives in simple and communal living. They are not Amish, but are often confused with the Amish. The Colonies consist of seven villages, and one of their hallmarks are their restaurants, known for their delicious traditional meals. Here's the link to their website:

I've eaten there a number of times and can recommend any of their restaurants.
Guten Appetit!
CAn you suggest a B&B to spend a few nights this summer?
Thanks
