What do you think is the bes route. Through Little Rock, AR or through Memphis, TN and down I 55. I guess you would cross at Vicksburg, MS if you went through LR. Thanks.

Two words: Google Maps.
Having driven from Memphis to New Orleans on I-55, I would definitely opt for the Little Rock path.
The only memories I have from the I-55 path were the view from the freeway of the State Capitol, and of a Wal Mart and a Taco Bell in Batesville, MS.
Surely you can upgrade from that merely for taking a chance on the unknown.
