Besides The Beach House, I'm curious as to the best restaurants (breakfast, lunch or dinner) on Kaua'i with spectacular ocean views? Also, are there any good breakfast places, view or no view in Kapaa, Poipu or Princeville?

There are any # of restaurants with views on Kauai - and two of the best are at the North Shore. The feature restaurant at the St. Regis is pricey - but has killer views - but you can also go down to the beach and enjoy dining by the pool. We used to love to have morning coffee out on the deck. http://www.starwoodhotels.com/stregis/property/dining/index.html?propertyID=189
Further out - at the Hanalei Colony Resort - you are right on the water - a la the Beach House in Poipu - and you can even stroll along the beach if you like. http://www.hcr.com/restaurant
They also have good luaus there on Tues night?
Perhaps our favorite is the Hanalei Dolphin - in Hanalei town - next to the river - and it's a great setting with very fresh fish/good menu. http://www.hanaleidolphin.com/index.htm
And while it's been years but the Bull Shed at Kapaa had great views. However,
would have to check around and get back up to speed on the current chef/offerings. www.castleresorts.com/Home/accommodations/mokihana?sid=1348
And plenty of good breakfast places - just ask around for where you want to go.
The St. Regis is wayyyy out of my price range. But in that area, I love the mountain views from the outdoor deck at Neide's. Love their panceque (Brazilian pancake stuffed with veggies & cheese -- or chicken & cheese.) Yumm ... I know you specified "ocean" views -- but one can't look at the ocean EVERY meal -- and those mountain views are beautiful ... Well, I guess you could!
Haven't been in a few years but Brenneke's on Poipu has a view, seems to get better reviews for lunch than dinner.
Tomsd, next time try Kalaheo Steak and Ribs, much better than the Bull Shed (and they do not charge you for the darn baked potato!.
I like the Hanalei Wake-Up cafe for breakfast in Hanalei. I also like breakfast at Joe's on the Green at the Kiahuna Golf Course in Poipu.
I have not eaten at the new, revamped restaurant at the Sheraton, but it is about as close to the ocean as you can get.
brennekes is right across the street from Poipu Beach but not all tables have views. It is low key but good. Last time I was at Beach House I said it would be the last time! I recommend going for sunset by sitting on the lawn. Hyatt regency has restaurants with great views.
We had dinner at the Beach House about 2 weeks ago. It was excellent. It was our first time there and we loved it. My husband had the filet mignon and I had seared scallops. Both were delicious. Yes, it's expensive, but the service we had was terrific (thanks Edwin), the food was very good and the view is awesome. We really enjoyed our evening there.
