lake vacation between columbus ohio and greensboro NC

My buddy and i and our combined 7 kids are looking to meet and have fun between Columbus ohio and greensboro NC. We have a ski boat and would love to be on a good place to ski and camp/cabin for a few days the end of this week.
Any suggestions?
