Has anyone ever stayed at the Medora motel in Medora, N. D.? Understand it is or will be changing its name to "The Bunk House". Have reservations there in June for a couple nights. Tried the Americinn, but had no vacancies. Any comments or suggestions. Also would like to attend the musical at the ampitheater. Should I make reservations now or wait? Thanks

I haven't stayed at either hotel you've listed, but the comfort inn in Dickinson is OK. It about a half hour east of Medora and is usually available on Priceline for around $40.
I would keep trying for the Americinn -the medora motel didn't look too appealing. We were there in july 2002... (since it was on our way to Glacier, Banff and Jasper NP's)... for one night, although we had ressies for two. But after nosing around town, we decided one night was more than enough. After we explored Theo Roosevelt NP, we were ready to go.

BTW, the americinn's free cont'l bfst was surprising good, with homemade waffles.
