Hi there,
We are best friends (female) from the UK intending to bit of a road trip - we have just spent 5 great nights in Memphis. We pick up our car hire tomorrow and dont have anything else booked until Las Vegas on 10th Nov! Can anyone suggest the most fun, interesting route to take? We were thinking of including Colorado Springs, Salt Lake Cty, Grand Canyon & Hoover Dam - or if anyone has any other ideas, that would be great - thanks.
Memphis to Las Vegas (duration 5 weeks)

What do you like to do? In addition to the places you have on your list:
If you like nature, some of the National Parks in Colorado, Utah, New Mexico, and Arizona on the way to Grand Canyon are wonderful.
For Native American History visit Mesa Verde in CO, Bandelier and Chaco Canyon in NM, Canyon de Chelley, Walnut Canyon, Wupatki in AZ.
For knock out fantastic scenery, just drive through Rocky Mt NP in Co, visit Arches.Canyonlands, Zion, Bryce, Capitol Reef in Utah, or visit Sedona .
For history and art, go to Santa Fe.
All of the NPs offer opportunities for a bit of hiking, and there are tons of places along the way to explore, get pampered, eat good food, etc.
Do a bit of research here and of your friends and come back with some more focused questions when you have a bit more of a plan for where you will head.
Winter will be coming to some of these areas by Nov 10, so picking a route may depend on where it is snowy/icy and or when roads get closed (RMNP and north rim of GC).
