Based on the feedback I received to my previous post, I am looking for a recommendation for a nice beachfront B&B or hotel anywhere in Florida Keys... Hubby wants to go diving and I just want to relax at the beach with a book and maybe go for a massage... In the evenings, we would like to go for a nice dinner... In a nutshell, looking for a very laid back, romantic couple of days away w/o kids
We'll be there in late Feb. Our budget is around $350 per night. Would really appreciate any recommendations.

Consider Pines & Palms in Islamorada. This is an oceanfront very lovely property with a great staff if you want quiet and kinda rustic. Cheeca lodge, also in Islamorada gets rave reviews, but I did not stay there. Cheeca Lodge has a little more partyish atmosphere I understand. Islamorada is I think considered mid-keys.

I recommended The MooringsVillage on your other thread. Price is a bit higher, but take a look and see if you can manage....the least expensive rooms are in, I believe, the North and South Lodge, and the Treehouse. Any one of these would be fantastic. The beach is picture postcard tropical, with white sands and swaying palms. I've stayed at a lot of resorts in many countries and this place was right up there in terms of quality of rooms, beauty of setting, and overall experience.
There is a reasonably priced restaurant about a block away from the property, Ma's Fish Camp. We ended up eating there three times during our stay last month, not because the food was fabulous, but because it was decent and reasonably priced local fare, as opposed to decent and exorbitantly priced often-imported fare (Maine lobsters in the Keys??) , which seems to be the norm, based on what we saw, and what I've read.
Take a look, not only at the hotel prices, but at the total you will be spending for lodgings and food. Food costs can be astronomical in the Keys and I say this as a Manhattan resident. (Main courses in the $30-$40 range are not uncommon in quite a few of the popular restaurants)
So you could consider splurging on the hotel and going for more moderate food costs; this would be easiest at a property with kitchen.
