Hi there. We are new to this part of the world and need some good objective advise. We live in Vancouver and we have a week time of break soon. We want to go on a RV trip when there is not to much rain. Is Oregon a good choice? we could use some nicer whether after Vancouver's winter...We are a family of 2 parents & 4 lovley girls. Youngest 7 oldest 19. We like nature- hiking and biking etc. Where is a good place to go without spending a lot of travel time heading south to Nevada or other dry places? thank you very much in advance for your help

Head for eastern Oregon...dry, warmer than the coast, with lots of places to explore.
Bob is right. Once you are east of the Cascades in Washington and Oregon, you are soon in the High Desert. Come down I-5 to the Portland area and then take I-84 east. Make the stop on I-84 to see Multnomah Falls which is the highest in Oregon.
There's plenty to see between Portland and Boise ID.
On the return trip you can go through eastern Washington.
Try to see the town of Leavenworth Washington.
If you wanted to see more of eastern Oregon you could also come through Bend and then east on US 20 to Ontario, OR (265 mi.)
John Day Fossil Beds National Monument east of Bend are well worth seeing (especially given your interests) and on the route Tom suggests. For RV campers, your best bets in the area are either the Fish House Inn and RV Park or Clyde Holliday State Park. Have tent camped at Fish House and it is quirky but decent.
