I'm about to graduate college and want to do a road trip from seattle, through portland and end in San Fran (or reverse). I'm having trouble with the logistics, as I'm learning how expensive it is to rent a car one-way under age 25. Any ideas on how to make this trip feasible?
Also, while I want to spend time in the cities, I also want to enjoy the beauty of the northwest. I've been advised to travel route 101 to see the coast. Any other tips on parks or other must-sees that I could cross?
Thanks, I want to make sure I see America before I settle down for the working life.

How many days and in what month?
Are you in college near Seattle?
My thought would be to fly to Portland and rent the car at PDX.
Drive north to Seattle. From Seattle, head for the Olympic Peninsula then down the coast through Astoria at least as far as Cannon Beach. When you have seen as much of the coast as you want, head back to I-5 and return the car at PDX. Take the Red line light rail into Portland. When you are done in Portland, take the Amtrak Coast Starlight to Emeryville (San Francisco).
You don't need a rental car in San Francisco unless you want to go to Napa or Yosemite.
Please let us know what you want to see other than the coast and the cities.
