Hi,
I am planning on a road trip from Dec 24, 2012 to Jan 1, 2013 and will be covering Vegas, Zion national park (Utah), Grand Canyon and maybe Death Valley if time permits. The lodges and vehicles are pretty expensive and so I will be renting a huge RV so that I can save on extra expenses.I will be traveling in a group of 6. Any suggestions or places to visit during my trip?

SF > DV > LV > Zion > GC > SF in in a 'Huge' motorhome, in 9 days, in the winter . . . crazy IMO.
W/ the slower motorhome - that will likely take 45 or 50 hours 'behind the wheel' time so you are looking at some VERY long days. (would take nearly 40 hours in a car)
W/o Death Valley it would be more doable.
M,
Have you rented a huge RV before? Have you obtained the specific details on mileage charges, one way charges, cleaning charges, dumping charges, kitchen equip charges (yes, that is NOT included) etc. etc.? And have you done the math? What mileage does it get?
I'll bet you will spend less using hotels/motels.
