We're thinking about going to Biloxi for a few days in February where my SO will golf, I'll go to the spa, we'll browse the casino, etc. I've searched Biloxi here but the last posts were years ago and I do have some questions:
I've looked at the temps in February and the daytime seems to be about 60. True? But is it rainy or anything else unpleasant?
I think we're going to be flying into Gulfport. Can you tell me how long a drive it is from there to Biloxi? What if we flew to New Orleans? How long would that drive be?
If you had a choice between the Beau Rivage or the IP Casino Hotel, which would you choose and why?
Any tips about getting a great deal or a good package that might include some golf?
I'd be happy to hear any other advice you can offer.
Thanks in advance.

Lived there 2 years, impossible to predict the weather. 1st winter was decent, 2nd winter was unusually cool and rainy which sucked. Long range predictions are for a warmer and slightly drier winter than normal so it *should* be nice.
The airport is small and probably about 25 minutes to either of those hotels. Rush hour in Gulfport/Biloxi is nothing, plenty of surface streets to bypass it if you get caught. And the airport is so small that it'll be pretty quick to get luggage and a car.
New Orleans is about 1.5 hours away, but coming from the airport is a bit further. And depending on flight time could be even worse if you hit rush hour because you have to go by the downtown exits on the way. The advantage to New Orleans is probably cheaper flights and one less connection to make? Plus you can take US 90 and drive along the MS coast which is beautiful. And of course you can add an overnight in New Orleans if you want much easier than if you fly into Gulfport.
I would choose the Beau Rivage because it is on the coast, whereas IP is on the Back Bay. Just a personal preference, I would rather stay right on the ocean instead of the bay.
I haven't been back since before Katrina so I can't give any tips, really no idea what it's like now in terms of places to go or anything like that.
Thanks so much, WAW -- that's so helpful!
Ditto Above Beau Rivage best from personalexperience IP cheap but on back bay not on beach poorly located not as nice.If you get a front can rain get below freezing usually 60 or sothe norm GPT your closest 10 mintes away or so. MSY in the big easy 1 hour soutwest.com very cheap webfares in there sometimes making car rental and the drive worth it for me.
Have fun!
www.hardrockbiloxi.com newest better pricepointswell located
Isla of Capri cheaper nice both easier on my wallet but well
located.

most gamer friendly usually very best price
for beach location and value not the Beau though.
Thanks so much, qwo. I'm going to look into the Hard Rock. We're not gamblers and really only use the casinos for entertainment so 'gamer friendly' isn't as important in a nice, well-located hotel.
