We stayed at the Green Mountain Inn in October and it was lovely. It is a charming little old inn with some newer buildings on the property. Our room was a little dated, but clean and comfortable. Our friends' room (in the newer building) was very nice and tastefully decorated.
Green Mountain Inn is in a nice location right in the middle of the "main drag" in Stowe. You can walk to restaurants, coffee shops and some shopping. The ski resort is probably a 10 minute drive.
We had an excellent lunch at the Whip Bar and Grill in the Green Mountain Inn - highly recommend it.
A second vote for the Green Mountain Inn. It's our favorite in Stowe.
There are all nice places. I have found memories of Stowehof. It's tucked in a back round near the mountain. Such a beautiful area. Enjoy!
