For those of you who were not able to come to the NYC GTG, please put Saturday, December 8th on yoru calendar NOW and please plan to come.
The GTG will be at Bella Luna again, everyone just raved about the food, and the service could not have been any better.
Bob didn't love his soup, but loved the veggies IN the soup, and that was the only somewhat negative comment on the food all day.
So here's what happened, 30 of us gathered at Bella Luna on Saturday at 1pm and our reservations were from 1-3 and all of us stayed until 4, lol.
Most of the people on the YESSSS list came except for just a couple and we even had a dog come to the party too, but I found a dog walker so we got back to partying, fast.
It was so great to be able to put a face with a name, and GGreen and I made placecards, with everyon'e name so that was fun to see who belonged to which name, lol.
The Boston contingent was present and accounted for several great stories. We all took our turns saying why we loved being a part of Fodors, and I said to Katie (Fodor's Ed), that it's more like a loosely organized volunteer group, and kind of like a family combined.
A special shout-out to all of you who came, and we all had such a GREAT time that people were asking when we were going to do the next event, sooooooooo
DRUM ROLL PLEASE.....................................CLANG
Saturday, December 8th at BELLA LUNA at 1 pm til.............
I made reservations for 40 this time but we have room for 50, so please let me know in the next couple of months if you can make it.
I would LOVE to do a charity bent to this, so I'm suggesting we all bring a toy for a child and I will find a group to come and pick them up. Be nice to be able to give, since this is going to be a hard Christmas for alot of families.
I am going to ask Hearts of GOLD, an organiation that helps homeless Moms and their kids if we can donate the toys there, and they can distribut them to needy families.
So till we meet again keep on postin'.............and see you in December.........oh and I already have a few ideas to surprise you....................
Ggreen how about we......shhhh can't tell them yet................well call me and we can get it all organized, lol.

What a great idea! Saturday was so much fun and the location was perfect. I doubt I'll be able to make it in December but so glad y'all already have a plan and a date on the calendar! Thanks for organizing such a fabulous GTG - and the toy idea for homeless kids is a fabulous one!
Sorry, travelbuff, but I think you meant SEMI-annual.

Otherwise, folks will be showing up in December 2014.
Oh, boy. MAYBE I can come. I have lots of variables at this point in life, but I had hoped to come up in December since I've never visited during Christmas. We'll see what happens. I always like to think of those less fortunate.
The Marines will pick up unwrapped toys as part of the Toys for Tots program. We do it every year in the office and end up with several huge boxes of toys. And yes, they send a couple of real marines to get them (but this is from 200 people - so perhaps 300 - 350 toys or so)
But you need to arrange in advance.
Sorry, to again say that I won't be able to attend. I am returning from a trip to Cuba two days prior so know that I will be busy with all that "stuff" that will need to be attended to.
Hi all : is there still going to be a GTG in NY on Dec. 8?
I haven't seen anything on any of the forums lately. I went to Boston GTG and had such a good time. I might just might be able to get there.
Please post any info. Many thanks.
