For those who have been there how much time would you schedule for sightseeing and to see some of the offshore islands and maybe some fishing, etc. Is 4 days too much. Also any recommendations on hotels or rentals with specific names or web addresses.
Generally what are the temperatures this time of the year in this area. Any help especially on lodging would be particularly welcome

http://www.gibsoninn.com/ Is a very nice clean Inn downtown. We have never stayed there but have driven past many times and shopped nearby. (We always stay in a cottage at the beach) Don't know anything about fishing as we do not fish,

Port St Joe is 30-40 min form Apalachicola and has a very nice Inn: http://www.portinnfl.com/ They also have a very nice marina that has fishing boats. You could probably get info at Dockside restaurant which is part of the marina.

Between Apalachicola and Port St Joe is Indian Pass. This B&B is right on the Gulf and close to Indian Pass Raw Bar which is a great place for oysters:

Sorry I put these in three posts but for some reason when I tried to combine them I kept losing my infomation. Tried to combine 4 times! Wish I had more info for you on fishing but these Inns and B&B are really great!!
Average highs are in the 60s in December, but be aware that the highs for any given year might be in the 70s or the 40s. Average lows are in the 40s.
Thanks to everybody who replied. These forums are great where you can get traveler's viewpoint vs. the local chamber of commerce who is generally not able to make recommendations or for that matter say anything deemed negative. Thanks again
I think four days would be more than enough time. I live about 60 miles west of Apalach, and the temps can vary greatly. For example, it is supposed to reach 80 on Monday. By mid December, it could be in the high 70's during the day, but most likely will be in the mid to upper 60's. Keep in mind that it will seem much colder if you are riding in a boat.
