Heading to Tuscaloosa this winter - via Nashville. We've calculated we'll need to stop around the Huntsville area for the night. That will leave us with only about 2.5 hours to go the next day. Any recommendations for good lodging off the highway we should consider? Thanks!

Topping..
Are you genuinely just stopping for the night? In other words, will you pull in at night, maybe grab a quick bite and then take off the next morning? If so, I'd just stop in Decatur and stay at a reputable chain - Hilton Garden Inn, Courtyard, Fairfield Inn, etc.
Why stop?
The drive from Nashville to RollTideville is less than four hours.
Thanks Travelgourmet - that's what I was looking for! If we feel like driving straight through - we can. But wanted that stop-over as an option.
The trip between Nashville and Tuscaloosa might be less than four hours via Google Maps, but if you hit Birmingham at the wrong time it could easily take you longer. Plus it feels interminable for some reason (or maybe that's just me).
Nashville -> Huntsville is an easy drive, and I second travelgourmet. Huntsville itself is not immediately off I-65, so if you're not interested in seeing anything there, I'd concentrate on Decatur or Athens. Both towns would have enough restaurants and hotels for what you need.
