We are in Washington for a short visit, we like the Capitol Hill Hotel, very pleasant and got a very good rate at Expedía aprox 600 for 4 nights including taxes.
So Far weather has been Ok, Not very cold and no rain. First day we took two taxis round trip exactly the same both ways but an Ethiopian driver, may be he is a US citizen now, over charged us and then tried to short change US, how do I know he was from Ethiopia ? because he talked all the time on his CELL, and I asked him what language it was . Of course I do wish to generalize , or imply anything , only that it is was unpleasant.
On the other hand everything else was very nice, including multiple other taxi rides.
We definitely love the National Gallery and keep on going there.
So far we had good meals at Montmartre, Cava Mezze, and Blue Duck Tavern. Mixed feelings at Oyamel, I was happy but my husband found the shrimps he ordered very bad,
the waiter, who was exceptionally nice changed them, but sending something back is never a good feeling.
We are having a great time and as I said the hotel is great except the wifi sometimes we have a bad reception in our room, opening the door brings back a good reception. not ideal.
Btw breakfast is included and it is pretty good, including hard boil eggs, and fruit, cheese etc
