I am feeling like I won't make it through this winter without some sort of getaway to a warm place. We have gone to Arizona once in February and it was cool and rained for part of our visit to Scottsdale. Not what we expected, unfortunately.
Because we are taking a big trip in June, this trip cannot be too expensive. (Don't ask what that means!) Anywhere in the continental US that would have nice warm weather and a relaxing atmosphere that you can recommend?
Where would you go? Thanks, Fodorites!!!!

San Diego?
Sometimes it will rain in AZ in the winter but the monsoon season is in the summer. San Diego is more likely to have rain. What about Florida, usually warmer than AZ?
US Virgin Islands or Puerto Rico...
Palm Springs CA is the traditional getaway for people from the cold winter areas of the country.
I would also try Arizona again. It's not very common to have rain in winter.
I'm not sure where you would be traveling from, which would make a difference, cost-wise. But here in Florida, February could be 80 degrees. Or 30, but not so much. Temps are in flux, and spring is springing - azaleas, etc. in bloom.
I live in Central Florida, so you may see me in long pants. Or shorts.
Well, if your main goal is getting away fronm winter, enjoying some nice weather and to relax with beautiful scenery, I would choose either Puerto Rico or a cheap 7 day cruise from PR to Caribbean or from somewhere in Florida or Texas to Mexico or Caribbean. We got a lovely cruise on a 5* ship to several islands three years ago in Feb. First cruise and fell in love with it. If it is something you might consider, start with vacationstogo as a web site to explore. There are several other good ones. Look at the cruise forum and cruisecritic if it interests you.
Lots of good suggestions. I just found a really good airfare to Scottsdale. Now checking hotels. Any suggestions there?
The Royal Palms Resort is excellent. Small [119 rooms] and beautiful. We love it there.
Check out other posts under Arizona for things to do in around Scottsdale/Phoenix. The Scottsdale area is very nice.
You might check out the Frank Lloyd Wright home/musuem in Scottsdale - and also - the spectacular Grand Canyon is only about 4 hours away, and red rock surrounded Sedona is about 2 hours.
The big Meteor Crater - a half hour or so east of Flagstaff - is also quite interesting.
