Hi Everyone:
Our first stop will be in Greenwich, Connecticut. From there, we will head east and north along the coast through Rhode Island, Mass, New Hampshire, and as far north as Rockland/Rockport, Maine. Any ideas on how far we should travel between cites/states/hotels? We're looking for the best places to overnight. We pretty much will be winging this trip.

Look at Stonington, CT,or Watch Hill, RI, Newport, RI, Plymouth, MA, Boston, .... for starters.
Only you can decide how far you want to drive between overnight stops.There is so much good eating in this area!
How long is your trip in total? What time of the year? What kinds of places do you like--chain hotels, roadside motels, B&Bs, resorts? Not easy to wing it at certain times of the year, some obvious (hoilday weekends) some not obvious (college homecoming events)
Actually, the trip will be about 10 days starting October 12 (in one month.) Chain hotels are fine as long as they are clean, safe and have wifi. Thnaks!
