Ships generally call in Bermuda during the week and sail to and from the island on weekends. While in Bermuda the ships act as hotels. Some ships may call at only one port city, such as the capital Hamilton, while others may split their time between Hamilton and St. George's or the Royal Navy Dockyard in the West End. In any case, you'll have access to the entire island by taxi, moped, public transportation, or shore excursion. Departure points for Bermuda cruises run the length of the Eastern seaboard, including Baltimore, Boston, New York, Philadelphia, and Fort Lauderdale. Departures are sometimes scheduled from other mid-Atlantic ports, such as Norfolk, Virginia, and Charleston, South Carolina, so check with the cruise line or your travel agent.
