hotel neer boston off 495, URGENT!

Hello, My parents are driving from New-Brunswick Canada to Orlando Florida. They are about 2-3 hours from Boston and would like a hotel near boston. They will be on the 495, does anyone have any suggestions on which town they should stop and at which hotel? Looking for something not too costly and convenient

Chelmsford. Radisson ($80) and Best Western ($65) are both off I-495 exit 34.

Route 495 is a ring route that circles Boston about 20 miles out. Are you looking for something ON 495, or literally near Boston? If it's the former, they'll be able to see plenty of chain hotels right from the highway and just grab an exit.

thanks for the response, yes they want to stay on 495 as it will be easier to leave the next day. I would like to pre-book them the hotel, as the rates on travelocity, etc. are better then walking in the hotel..

Would the Comfort suites in Haverhill be a good option? Is it easy off the 495? Travelocity had a rate of $64.95

Comfort Suites Haverhill. Over-50-years old rate is $71 for 2 doubles and $81 for a king suite. Light breakfast included and there is a Dunkin Donuts next door. 99 Restaurant down the road is fine for dinner. ($10-$15 pp)

I-495 ex.49 Rt. 110 River St. East 1/2 mile past the 99 Rest and Dunkin Donuts. rt. onto Bank Rd. Htl. is at the end of the Rd. on rt.

However if they want easy exit in the morning they might want to continue on PAST Boston tonight so they would have all the Boston southbound traffic snarls out of the way tomorrow morning.

I suggest your parents stop at any of the rest stops or fast food joints on 495 and get one of the free magazines that has the discount hotel coupons. Those rates are more often than not cheaper than what you can find online. Follow the directions on the coupon. Sometimes a call needs to be placed in advance of arrival.

Do they have a route planned out from 495, going south? Heading for Hartford? Or did they have another plan?

They should stay on 495 until they hit 290 West.....off 290 there is a Best Western ($84 Seniors with breakfast). Exit 20 off 290 the Best Western is right there. They can get easy directions from the hotel for route to 84...but should avoid Hartford between 8am and 9:30am

And also tell them about the haverhill in case traffic on 495 is already heavy and they want to get off instead of staying to 290.

Hotels that use Priceline require the credit card to be presented upon arrival. Same problems may arise with using Travelocity, Expedia, etc. If you are going to use a credit card, make sure it is your parents, and that you have all of the information, including the 3 digit security number on the backside of the credit card.

If they're looking for a bargain theres a $55 Econo Lodge in Sturbridge, on Route 20....exit 9 off the Mass Turnpike (90)....and very convenient to 84 in the morning.

If you use Priceline, I'd suggest the Billerica - Tewksbury area. It's a relatively small area centered on I-495.

Thanks! I guess I will suggest they stop in Haverhill, 64,95 seems reasonable...plus they already have made a lot of milleage already today. How far will that be from connecticut so I let them know what time to leave to avoid the 8-9h30 rush
